Pure Land Bhutan Wellness & Retreat Center (Paro)
20 minutes drive from the Paro International Airport, in a small village called Gang-Juk, Paro.
beautiful paddy fields against the backdrop of majestic Himalayan mountains with an amazing and mesmerizing view of the most sacred site of the Tiger’s Nest, Paro Taksang.

IT WILL BE place where a vibrant community of people, locals and from all over the world gather to learn, exchange ideas, and support each others health and wellness. It will ALSO SERVE AS THE hub for the various pure land bhutan projects.
EDUCATION & LEARNING CENTRE
A PLACE FOR LEARNING TOGETHER; PRACTICING & BUILDING CAPABILITY TO HEAL SELF AND OTHERS
The centre will host Sowa Rigpa related educational activities such as workshops, conferences and meetings. The open roof section will be perfect for outdoor activities such as yoga and meditation! There will also be a space specially for conducting rituals to bless medicines and pills as part of traditional medicine practice. In order to support the spiritual practices of Sowa Rigpa physicians and therapists, they can pay homage to the founding father of Tibetan medicine, Yuthok Yonten Gonpo here in the centre.
A PLACE FOR SELF- CARE & DEVOTING TO SPIRITUAL PRACTICE
There will be 6 cottages, each dedicated to the eight famous tertons and two outstanding yoginis of Tibet and Bhutan. The cottages are designed with themes of isolation and natural tranquility making them ideal for meditation and personal or group retreats. Each room will have its own unique traditional altars, with the accompanying masters’ or terton’s images, and their short biographies and key teachings. The cottages will also be suited for tourists to Bhutan looking to stay at a wellness centre.
SORIG CLINIC & WELLNESS CENTRE
A PLACE FOR HEALING & REJUVENATION SUPPORTED BY SKILLED & COMPASSIONATE DOCTORS & THERAPISTS
The wellness centre will house consultation rooms for Sorig doctors to see patients. There will also be therapy rooms for treatments such as Kunye massage, hot stone bath and steam bath using local herbals of five nectar. We envision it to be an ideal space for achieving both mind-body balance and health.
WOMEN’S & CHILDREN’S CENTRE
A PLACE FOR WOMEN TO SUPPORT ONE ANOTHER SPIRITUAL PRACTICES & LIFE ‘S JOURNEY
Specially dedicated to women children, the Dakini house will be a place where women practitioners can gather to focus on their practice and also support each others practice.As part of our mission to be an integral part of health and well-being of the local community, the Dakini House will also be a community space providing a safe haven for local women and their children who may be in need of shelter and safety. The Dakini House will also house a library of books and artifacts related to the many important historical women figures who have contributed to flourishing of the Buddhist tradition but have unfortunately remained largely forgotten and neglected to this day. We aim to further research and document their stories and teachings, and collect their images for educating future generations on their contributions to the history and development of Buddhism.
SORIG HERB GARDEN
A SHOWCASE OF MEDICINAL PLANTS FOR EDUCATION & RESEARCH
Rated as top ten for biodiversity in the world, Bhutan has more than 600 types of medicinal plants. We aim to cultivate as many of them in our garden, creating a natural, energetically infused Himalayan botanical garden to be used for education and research. This garden take on a bigger scale at Pure Land Farm in Gelephu, where we will focus on cultivation of plants normally found in subtropical areas for producing medicinal oils and pills to promote health & well-being for all via our line of products, use in the wellness centre and for distribution to the local community.
